Three Granville Street bars reported as coronavirus exposure sites

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is warning patrons who visited three Granville Street bars and nightclubs recently that they could be at risk for potential COVID-19 exposure.

The health authority issued a public exposure notification on Sunday, including the dates and times of when the exposures took place.

The most recent was at The Compound/Heaven, located at 1026 Granville Street. Anyone who attended the establishment on August 29, between 9:45 pm to 1 am, is at risk.

The day before, VCH said that Studio Lounge and Nightclub at 919 Granville Street also had an exposure event. People who were there on August 28, anytime during operating hours should consider themselves at risk of being exposed to the coronavirus

Finally, Cabana Lounge at 1159 Granville Street also had a potential exposure on August 28, during operating hours.

“The possible exposures listed on the site are believed to be low risk, but we’re asking anyone who was at the locations listed on those dates to self-monitor themselves for symptoms,” VCH said in its update.

Common symptoms of coronavirus include cough, fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, headache, and loss of smell or taste.
