People are skating on thin ice in Kitsilano (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

It’s not just Trout Lake that has pond hockey enthusiasts excited, Vanier Park in Kitsilano is getting its fair share of skaters too.

However, there’s still not enough ice forĀ the Vancouver Park Board to deem the frozen pond safe, but that hasn’t stopped skaters from lacing up and taking to the ice in their droves. Ponds at Vanier Park and Stanley Park’s Lost Lagoon only have about four inches of ice, below the required five inches to ensure safe skating.

Best of all, these skaters captured it on Instagram, which means you can enjoy the spectacle without the thrill of cracking ice beneath you feet.
