After 200 applicants, four rounds of competition, and countless hours of mentorship and education, New Ventures BC just awarded over $250,000 in cash and prizes to 2019’s top startups in BC during Vancouver Startup Week.
The New Ventures BC Competition, presented by Innovate BC, operates like a mini Dragon’s Den for BC — minus the theatrics. In addition to the cash prizes, the winning ventures receive recognition, profile to investors, and are considered ones to watch in the tech ecosystem.
Here are 2019’s top 3 tech startups in BC:
Doordash, Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes, you name it — you have the app for it. But so do restaurants. As much as these apps have become an awesome way for restaurants to drive business, restaurants are struggling to manage multiple apps.
Cuboh resolves this pain point by consolidating third-party delivery apps into one integrated hub. The platform also provides order analytics to the restaurants which helps them improve their sales. Since launching in 2018, Cuboh has grown rapidly, with hundreds of happy customers and a 97% retention rate. They were accepted to Y Combinator’s S2019 batch and also won the 2019 Startup of the Year Award, from VIATEC in Victoria.
NiceJob ensures that great work done by companies never goes unrecognized, unappreciated or unrewarded.
A reputation marketing platform, NiceJob automates the collection of online customer reviews and referrals and distributes them to sites where they not only raise awareness but drive sales.
Since launching two years ago, NiceJob hit $1.7 million in annual recurring revenue and grew their team by 400%, all without raising any outside funding.
Not everyone has the experience or training to create a compelling video. Lumen5 makes it easy for anyone to create an engaging video within minutes, using the world’s smartest video creator powered by A.I.
Since their launch in 2017, Lumen5 has grown into a multi-million-dollar business with 300,000 users including brands like Forbes, The Economist, TransLink and Daily Hive.
All this growth was organic and achieved without raising any capital or marketing spend.
