It's going to feel like 36°C in Metro Vancouver today

The hot weather continues around Metro Vancouver today, with highs expected to feel like 36°C in some areas due to the humidity.

A special weather statement is in effect for the following areas:

  • Metro Vancouver – central including the City of Vancouver Burnaby and New Westminster
  • Metro Vancouver – North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
  • Metro Vancouver – northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge
  • Metro Vancouver – southeast including Surrey and Langley
  • Metro Vancouver – southwest including Richmond and Delta

According to Environment Canada, “daytime maximum temperatures are forecast to be 5 to 10°C above” the seasonal average.

And with the forecast expecting smoke to linger throughout the region until tomorrow, be sure to take extra precautions and limit time outside if necessary.
