It took a week of frigid temperatures and several close calls from Environment Canada, but Metro Vancouver finally received the heavy snowfall that meteorologists had been calling for.
Parts of the Lower Mainland have already received up to 10 cm of snow, with another 10 to 15 cm expected over the next 24 hours.
The Weather Network is calling this system the coldest, heaviest weather pattern to hit Vancouver since 2008, and public transit is already having a hard time keeping up.
