A suspect is in custody until his next court appearance following a reported double stabbing on a Vancouver bus.

The 30-year-old was arrested after an incident that occurred at Joyce-Collingwood SkyTrain Station on April 25, at around 6 p.m.

According to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), witnesses called 911 after seeing the stabbings occur on a bus at the bus bay at Joyce SkyTrain Station.

When police arrived on the scene, they discovered the victims, who were both bleeding after allegedly getting into a physical altercation on the bus with an unknown suspect.

Both of the victims were transported to the hospital for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say that the suspect reportedly left in an Evo rental car before the police arrived on scene. He was then located and arrested shortly after the incident near Joyce Street and East 41st Avenue.

“Police are recommending charges against a 30-year-old Vancouver man. He remains in custody until his next court hearing on April 30,” VPD said.

Police are still hoping that the public may have more information about the incident, and are asking anyone who does to contact the VPD Major Crime Section’s Robbery Assault Unit at 604-717-2541.
