“Vancouver Police responded at 4:44 p.m. on January 7 to a 9-1-1 call regarding an alleged assault,” said the VPD on social media.

“The suspect allegedly came out of his vehicle and opened the woman’s door, then punched her in the head multiple times. The suspect then drove away.”

The 60-year-old victim was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital to receive treatment.

A witness called 9-1-1 for help and assisted the victim. They also provided information that helped police track down the suspect, who was taken into custody on Wednesday evening in Richmond.

“Goran Presic, 52, of Richmond, has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm,” added the VPD.

Presic has been released on bail by the courts.

Metro Vancouver has seen several recent road rage incidents that have caused serious injuries and vehicle damage.

In October, an alleged merging dispute between two drivers left one person with critical injuries after they were allegedly struck by a vehicle.

And in September, a Mercedes-Benz was left in need of some serious repairs after it was allegedly mangled up by a motorcyclist in West Vancouver in a road rage incident.
