
A road rage incident in North Vancouver has left one person with critical injuries.
The incident occurred on Saturday, Oct. 4, at around 3 p.m., near Boulevard Crescent and East 21st Street in North Vancouver.
According to a release from the North Vancouver RCMP, the incident occurred during an alleged merging dispute between two drivers: one driving a white Jeep and the other driving a grey Subaru.
The North Vancouver RCMP states that during the interaction, the Jeep driver exited their vehicle and was allegedly struck by the grey Subaru. RCMP adds that multiple people had called to report the incident.
First responders responded to the North Vancouver road rage incident immediately, taking the driver of the Subaru into custody, while the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
“The suspect is facing multiple charges in relation to the incident and has since been released with several police imposed conditions,” North Vancouver RCMP said in the release.
“This was a traumatic incident for the people who witnessed it,” said North Vancouver RCMP Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer, in a statement.
“We are continuing to assess the condition of the victim, which may impact the nature of the charges as the investigation progresses.”
The North Vancouver RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in its investigation.
