A 26-year-old man from Burnaby has been arrested for allegedly stealing a supply van from St. Paul’s Hospital Friday morning, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

In a release, the VPD says that at about 1 am Friday morning, officers received information about a 2008 Pontiac Montana van stolen from the underground parking lot at the hospital with the keys left in the vehicle.

Cst. Tania Visintin with VPD said police were able to make the arrest thanks to the help of a tracking device on the van, which allowed officers to locate the vehicle in the area of Powell Street and Commercial Drive.

The suspect has been taken to jail, and charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and theft of an automobile have been recommended.
