Vancouver landmarks shine in the latest 'Tron: Ares' trailer

We are months away from the release of Tron: Ares, which was filmed in Vancouver, and the latest trailer showcases a lot of the city.
Tron: Ares, which stars Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Jeff Bridges, and Gillian Anderson, releases on Oct. 10, 2025. The film is directed by Joachim Rønning and features a writing team that includes Jesse Wigutow (Daredevil: Born Again), David DiGilio (The Terminal List), and Steven Lisberger (Tron, Tron: Legacy). Lisberger was behind the previous two films.
Over the past year and a bit, we published a few stories due to street closures for the film shoot, particularly on the Cambie Bridge, which appears to be the focus of a major, and very cool-looking, chase scene in the flick.
If you slow the trailer down, you can actually still make out a street sign for Pacific Boulevard, which wasn’t masked or digitally altered.

Other parts of the trailer will also be instantly recognizable to Vancouverites. There are even some chases down alleyways that are unmistakably Vancouver.

With some Hollywood films and TV shows that are filmed in Vancouver, it’s sometimes hard to make the city out. In the Tron: Ares trailer, there’s no confusion. It is very clearly and unabashedly Vancouver.
Tron: Ares has had quite a tumultuous production since the film was announced back in 2015, marking ten years of production and development issues. According to reports from Hollywood media publications, the film was actually scrapped entirely at one point before a reboot was announced.
The writers’ strike also led to delays. Reports also state principal filming didn’t actually start until early last year.
