YVR ranked one of the best airports in the world for wellness
Canada’s second largest airport has landed on yet another accolade.
A recently released ranking by travel booking website Netflights examined a selection of 25 of the world’s busiest airports to see how each airport fared when it comes to wellness amenities.

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) ranked sixth overall, just behind Hong Kong International Airport and ahead of New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The only other Canadian airport that made the ranking was Toronto Pearson International Airport, which ranked ninth.
Frankfurt Airport ranked first, Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, Dubai International Airport, and Singapore’s Changi Airport.
“Times are changing. If you think of airports as stress-inducing places filled with recycled air and convenience food, you might be surprised by how far many have come,” reads the ranking.
“And by that, we mean these airports are making active efforts to help passengers to be healthy and feel good – both physically and mentally.”
Wellness amenities analyzed include massage access and spas, meditation areas, gyms, yoga classes, relaxation space, fitness gyms, outdoor or green space, prayer rooms, and even a running track. Such amenities are ideal for passengers who have longer layovers while transferring through the airport.
The only wellness amenities YVR did not boast was massage access and a running track.
