Construction forces closure of Mister Ice Cream's Kitsilano location

A popular Vancouver artisan ice cream spot is closing its Kitsilano location, blaming ongoing construction for the closure.
In an Instagram post on Friday morning, Mister Ice Cream announced that, after three years, it has decided not to renew the lease for its Kitsilano store.
“With ongoing construction in the area and no clear timeline for completion, it has become increasingly challenging for our small shop to operate effectively,” the post said.
Fortunately, the Vancouver ice cream brand’s two other locations remain unaffected, including one in Yaletown and one on Robson Street, which Dished gave you an inside look at last year.
You still have one more day to check out Mister’s sweet treats at the Kitsilano location, as the final day of service will be Saturday, Oct. 18.
“We are deeply grateful for the support and kindness this community has shown us over the years, it has truly meant so much.”
Mister offers a rotating array of made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream, available by the scoop or pint, as well as ice cream sandwiches, ice cream bars, and frozen bananas.

This isn’t the first spot to close because of construction within the last month. In September, Dished shared that The Greek would be shutting down its Broadway location due to ongoing construction for the subway project.
