The Westin Bayshore, a premier Vancouver hotel, has won a very specific award for the fourth consecutive year.
Earlier this month, at the seventh annual World MICE Awards, the Westin Bayshore was crowned the best MICE hotel.
And no, it has nothing to do with rodents. MICE stands for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.
“This recognition reflects the hotel’s continued leadership and commitment to delivering exceptional, creative and memorable experiences for meetings and events,” a Westin Bayshore spokesperson said.
Earlier this year, the waterside Vancouver hotel hosted a major event, East By Northwest, featuring a few celebrities like Randall Park.
A few other notable events are still to come to the Westin this year, including Italian Design Weeks, TEATOPIA, and the Westin BOOshore Halloween activation, which begins tomorrow.
Westin says the heart of its experiential event offering is the Infinity Wall, the largest high-def LED screen in a hotel ballroom in North America.
“Located within the 15,500-square-foot Bayshore Grand Ballroom, the expansive installation provides a dynamic canvas for storytelling, entertainment, branding and immersive experiences,” Westin shared in a release.
It added that the wall expands possibilities for ballroom events, offering groups a dynamic canvas for large-scale presentations, live sports viewing, or even interactive gaming competitions.
Other winners included Malaysia Airlines as the world’s best MICE airline, and London as the world’s best MICE destination. United Airlines was named North America’s best MICE airline.
Vancouver also got some flowers, earning the title of North America’s best corporate retreat destination.
Another B.C. hotel, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler, was named the province’s best incentive hotel.
Dubai’s World Trade Centre was named the world’s best convention centre.
