Another closure planned for busy Vancouver Highway 1 area

After multiple closures for repairs, a busy Vancouver Highway 1 area will be closed again for further roadwork.
Daily Hive Urbanized previously shared how the Exit 27 off-ramp would be closed for just over a week.
Now, the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit says that the north side on-ramp to Highway 1 westbound from East 1st Avenue will be closed for two weeks, starting tomorrow, July 17, until Aug. 4.
The closure is so that City of Vancouver crews can work on sewer upgrades on East 1st Avenue.
During the period of the closure, the on-ramp is going to stay closed, meaning that you won’t be able to turn right or left onto the Highway 1 westbound on-ramp from East 1st Avenue.
“Drivers travelling westbound can detour through East Hastings Street or McGill Street and should plan additional travel time through the route,” the ministry says.
The ministry is reminding drivers to obey the signage and to keep up to date with the latest traffic changes at DriveBC.ca.
