Metro Vancouver trucking company caught for impaired driving, again

An impaired driver was taken off Metro Vancouver roads, but it isn’t the first time the trucking company involved has been hit with the violation.
The last time the trucking company was involved in an impaired driving traffic stop was less than two months ago, on May 20.
As a result of the most recent violation, which occurred on July 3, 2025, a dump truck has been impounded for 30 days, a driver has been hit with a 90-day driving prohibition, and other violation tickets have been issued.
On July 3, a Burnaby RCMP commercial vehicle enforcement officer was travelling behind a loaded dump truck “travelling southbound on Boundary Road in the left lane.”
Soon after, they observed the truck swerve and cross over the centre lane several times.
“The dump truck was also observed hitting the raised centre median as it continued to swerve down Boundary Road,” Burnaby RCMP said.
The truck was eventually stopped on Marine Way, at Roseberry Avenue, and the driver failed a sobriety test. Three violation tickets were issued, totalling $1,300.
Burnaby RCMP described the incident as “bad déjà vu.”

After the May incident, Burnaby RCMP had the following to say, which suggests that the Metro Vancouver trucking company was involved in two cases in the last two months and in three different impaired driving incidents within the last two years:
This was the second time this calendar year that this driver and truck were removed from the roadway with multiple unsafe vehicle defects,
said Cst. Kevin Connolly with Burnaby RCMP’s Traffic Services. We will be requesting a review of the company’s ability to operate in BC, as well as a review of the driver’s Class 1 licence.
