The Vancouver Goldeneyes were the first team in the PWHL to play on a rink that featured their logo at centre ice all year round.
Their jerseys, however, did not feature their logo. Instead, they played their inaugural season in jerseys with a diagonal “Vancouver” wordmark, which has become a tradition for the fledgling hockey league.
When the Goldeneyes take the ice this season, however, they’ll finally have a logo on their jersey, which they officially revealed on Wednesday.

The Goldeneyes’ logo, a stylized eye in the shape of a diving goldeneye duck with a bronze wing motif, is unapologetically large on the jersey and ties the colours of the jersey together into a cohesive whole.
The home jerseys are predominantly blue, with a cream white secondary colour and bronze accents.

The away jerseys use the cream white as the primary colour, with the blue secondary colour and the same bronze accents.

The Goldeneyes will wear the same blue pants with both their home and away looks, though the sock colours will match the jersey.

The most intriguing element of the new jerseys is the piping on the sleeves.
The series of five thin bronze stripes is intended to evoke the wings of the common goldeneye duck, and it sets it apart from other PWHL jerseys, not to mention almost any other hockey jersey, giving the Goldeneyes a unique visual identity.

While the sleeves are the most prominent unique detail, they’re not alone. The bottom of the jersey has a V-shape for Vancouver, while the numbers feature a silhouette of their logo, the diving common goldeneye, to add texture and visual interest.

“I’m thrilled to see our new jerseys,” said Goldeneyes forward Jenn Gardiner in a press release. “I love the details, especially the stripes on the sleeves representing wings […] I can’t wait to see fans wearing these jerseys and representing the Goldeneyes alongside us.”
