Kwantlen Street Farmers’ Market

  • What: The market offers a rotating selection of food trucks and carts, vendors with local produce, fresh Okanagan fruit, locally brewed beer and BC wines, SPCA certified chicken and eggs, freshly baked French breads and pastries, and natural soap and body care products. There will also be products grown and crafted by local farmers and artisans, highlighting KPU’s own Sustainable Agriculture students.

Improv X Poetry

  • What: The Fictionals and friends from Vancouver’s spoken word scene team up for Improv X Poetry at Cafe Deux Soleils. Featuring slam poetry from special guests Duncan Shields, Angelica Poversky, and RC Weslowski.

The Science Behind Pixar Vancouver 2018

  • What: The Science Behind Pixar, featuring over 40 interactive elements, was created by the Museum of Science, Boston and Pixar Animation Studios. The upcoming exhibition in Vancouver will be broken into eight distinct sections, with each focusing on a step of Pixar’s filming making process: modelling, rigging, surfaces, sets and cameras, animation, simulation, lighting, and rendering. The activities and exhibits are inspired by some of Pixar’s most acclaimed films, including Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo, and WALL-E. Attendees will also have photo opportunities with human-size recreations of famous Pixar characters, such as Buzz Lightyear, Dory, Mike and Sulley, Edna Mode, and WALL-E.

Read Local BC – Poetic Frequency

  • What: Join Read Local BC for an insightful and engaging evening of poetry considering our place in the world, how we engage with society, and our effect on the natural world. Featuring BC poets Kate Braid (Elemental), Mercedes Eng (Prison Industrial Complex Explodes), and Cornelia Hoogland (Trailer Park Elegy), and hosted by Surrey Poet Laureate Renée Sarojini Saklikar.

The Arts and Crafts Movement in Vancouver 1890-1930

  • What: This Heritage House Tour pre-tour lecture with Jim Wolf will explore the craftsmanship of the Arts and Crafts movement in Vancouver that saw the meeting of international influences with local art and place.
