Free outdoor movies in Stanley Park – Mean Girls

  • What: Mean Girls is screening at Stanley Park as part of Evo Summer Cinema Series’ 10th Anniversary. Enjoy the film on a four-story inflatable movie screen. Please bring your own blankets and/or lawn chairs and, since it’s a family-friendly event, smoking or alcohol is not permitted. Moviegoers are encouraged to walk, take transit, or bike to Stanley Park for the shows  – there will be a bike valet service offered on site each night too.

Cult Following Live with The Fictionals 

  • What: The leader is good, the leader is great! Join The Fictionals for Cult Following Live, a new comedy show featuring the Vancouver-made party game by Bravely Told Games. The comedians will create new and ridiculous cults and the audience will decide the one true winner.

  • What: While school may be out for the summer, there are still ample learning opportunities to be had, thanks to the return of Twilight Tuesdays at Science World. Until August 28, patrons can enjoy extended hours every Tuesday at Science World, from 5 pm to 9 pm, while exploring the exhibits, catching a live science show, or viewing a larger-than-life OMNIMAX film.

Noontime Notes at Central City

  • What: Head to Central City’s outdoor Plaza and enjoy free live lunchtime music every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. A wide array of musical offerings will be showcased including rock, jazz, country, and more.

Family Nights at Bard on the Beach

  • What: Arrive at the Village early for family-friendly activities, including the PIXSTAR photobooth and an exclusive pre-show talk designed just for kids (Mainstage tent). Then enjoy a performance of the joyful comedy, As You Like It, filled with Beatles songs.

Reclusive Cosmopolitans: A Series of Poetry Activations

  • What: In conjunction with the exhibitions “David Milne: Modern Painting” and “Cabin Fever,” Vancouver Art Gallery presents a series of poetry interventions. This series will provide a space for the literary and visual arts to convene and find new ways of relating to each other.
