Free outdoor movies in Stanley Park – The Lion King

  • What: The Evo Summer Cinema Series presents the animated classic on a four-story inflatable movie screen showing film classics and modern blockbusters. Please bring your own blankets and/or lawn chairs and, since it’s a family-friendly event, smoking or alcohol is not permitted. Moviegoers are encouraged to walk, take transit, or bike to Stanley Park for the shows  – there will be a bike valet service offered on site each night too.

BLOOM II 2018

  • What: MascallDance’s BLOOM is an informal evening of dance, wine and comedy. The choreographers in residence will be showing excerpts of their work in the early evening, plus each dance is paired with a wine and interpreted for the audience by a stand-up comedian.

Home Made Home: Lululiving Open House

  • What: As part of the exhibition currently on display at Richmond Art Gallery, Germaine Koh’s newest work, a 160 square foot tiny house will be open to the public every Tuesday and Saturday. A fully functioning small home becomes a platform for public dialogue on the locally and globally relevant issues of housing and accessibility.

Artist Talk – Resonant Presence and Refusals

  • What: Jeneen Frei Njootli, Ayumi Goto, Peter Morin and Olivia Whetung reflect together on the many shared concerns of their practices, with the discussion moderated by CAG Curator Kimberly Phillips and VAG Senior Curatorial Fellow of Indigenous Art, Tarah Hogue.

Birthday Bash for the Universe: Family Night

Enjoy crafts, activities and a show in the planetarium star theatre that will explore the birth of our 13.8 billion-year-old universe. Young science experts from the UBC Astronomy Club will be there to share how their childhood passion prompted them to study space, physics and astronomy. The Vancouver LEGO Club will also be in attendance with a space display.
