Vancouver Vaisakhi Parade 2018

  • What: Thousands of people are expected to turn out for this year’s colourful Vaisakhi parade. The event will feature colourful floats,  traditional dancing, food, and music from India’s Punjab region. Everyone is welcome to attend.

  • Where: Starts at Ross Street Sikh  Temple – 8000 Ross Street, Vancouver

Party for the Planet 2018

  • What: BC’s largest Earth Day celebration with performances by Sam Roberts (of Sam Roberts Band), Bobs & LoLo, Rockin’ Robin Show, The Freshest, and Star Captains. There will also be bike-powered smoothies, enviro-bungee, BC Lions, Science World Demos, photobooths and more to enjoy.

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival: The Big Picnic and Spring Lights

  • What: The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival presents two amazing events at Queen Elizabeth Park on Saturday. The Big Picnic in the afternoon includes face-painting, YYoga free class, food vendors, life-size Jenga and Connect Four, and performances by local artists. Spring Lights in the evening features light art installations by Hfour, Ari Laser, Tim Rolls, Leó Stefánsson, and Samm Z Cooper. There will also be dance performances choreographed by Heather Laura Gray, a musical soundscape by Adham Shaikh, the Tacofino food truck, and more.

Lonsdale Quay Farmers’ Market

  • What: Run by the same organization behind the Ambleside Market in nearby West Van, the Lonsdale Quay Farmers’ Market brings local farmers, artisans, and other vendors to North Vancouver for a weekly Saturday market.
  • When: Saturdays and some Sundays, now to October 27, 2018

Delhi 2 Dublin

  • What: Delhi 2 Dublin is a live-electronic, bhangra, hip-hop, world-pop, hybrid act who have played over 100 shows a year for the last decade at festivals like Electric Forest (USA), Woodford Folk (Australia), and Bali Spirit Festival (Indonesia). Featuring guests Horsepowar & DJ Swift

PoCo’s Got Talent – A Variety Show for All-Ages

  • What: Come see some terrific local talent during the Wilson Centre’s inaugural “PoCo’s Got Talent” showcase event. Local entertainer, Toshi Jackson, has put together a two-hour variety show featuring all ages acts, including musicians, singers, dancers and performers.

Comedy Basement Showcase Saturday featuring Ryan Lachance

  • What: Comedy Basement celebrates the birthday of headliner Ryan Lachance. Also featuring host Steev Letts, Taylor Moorey, Anjelica Scannura, Jessica Joelle Pigeau, Suzy Rawsome and more.

BC Distilled 2018

  • What: The spirits-centric celebration will bring together 40 distilleries from across the province – veterans and newbies alike – and will give attendees the chance to interact and taste samples from each and every one of ’em. Participants of BC Distilled can also purchase bottles to bring home and there will also be a charity silent auction hosted by the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (which mean dogs and puppies will be on site).

RENT

  • What: Set in the East Village of New York City, Rent is about falling in love, finding your voice, and living for today.
