St. Paul’s Hospital Lights of Hope kickoff and fireworks

St. Paul’s Foundation
What: The holidays in Vancouver just wouldn’t be as bright without the Lights of Hope, and this year is kicking off with the return of the popular fireworks display.
St. Paul’s Foundation’s massive light display outside of St. Paul’s Hospital has been an annual Christmastime tradition and fundraising campaign since 1998.
More than 100,000 lights and hundreds of shining stars recognizing the support of generous donors will be officially switched on Thursday, Nov. 27, and fireworks will commemorate the occasion on opening night.
When: Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025 (lights will be on display until early January)
Time: 6 to 8 p.m. for kickoff, nightly throughout the holiday season

Vancouver Etsy Co – Holiday Pop-Up Market
What: Calling all local handmade enthusiasts! Join Vancouver Etsy Co. for its annual Holiday Pop Up Market featuring over 80 local Canadian makers, designers, and artists.
Shop for authentic handcrafted ceramics, jewelry, apparel, home goods, food, body care and more, all designed or made in Canada. Plus, take part in creative workshops, check out the Kids Zone with STEAM activities, and support 12 Mini Makers (ages 7-14).
The first 50 attendees each day will receive market cash and as well as a limited edition tote bag. Fifty per cent of ticket sales will go to support Mom2Mom Child Poverty Initiative and Renfrew Collingwood Seniors’ Society Pet-friendly venue.

Heritage Christmas at Burnaby Village Museum
What: Heritage Christmas and the Burnaby Village Museum are truly where history comes alive. Enjoy the magical atmosphere of festive lights and traditional decorations in this 1920s-era village.
There will also be seasonal entertainment, demonstrations and activities, and delicious food served up at Heritage Christmas. Keep an eye out for the historic streetcar on your way to the old-timey ice cream parlour.

Lauryn Hill

What: Lauryn Hill, who burst onto the music scene as part of The Fugees’ hit 1996 album, The Score, will be playing the Orpheum Theatre on Nov. 24 as part of an artist-in-residence tour.
Hill is best known for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which produced hits such as “Doo Wop (That Thing)” and “Everything Is Everything” and won five Grammy Awards. She’s also well known for her political activism.

Birdy by Hung Dance (Taiwan)
What: DanceHouse presents Hung Dance’s Birdy, where creatures of a feather dance together in a magical call to the wild.
Employing a headpiece called “Ling Zi” that incorporates pheasant tail feathers worn in traditional Chinese opera to represent a warrior’s power and skill, Birdy offers up bright bursts of freedom balanced against the weighted cage of history. Witness the dancers flock together in rippling patterns of conformity and divergence in a tightrope struggle for freedom.

Lights by the Lake at Harrison Hot Springs
What: Harrison Hot Springs will be overflowing with Christmas spirit this season, thanks to the return of its annual holiday lights festival.
The village’s annual Lights by the Lake will happen until Sunday, Jan. 11. Visitors will enjoy magical holiday displays that transform the Harrison lakefront into an enchanting world of lights celebrating the local wildlife as well as the elusive Sasquatch.

Gingerbread Lane at Hyatt Regency Vancouver

What: Gingerbread Lane, the sweetest street in Vancouver, is back for its 33rd year as the Hyatt Regency once again plays host to the popular festive tradition.
As per tradition over the past three decades, the free event features delightful gingerbread creations designed by secondary school students, amateur culinary artists, and professional bakers.
In addition to providing a welcome dose of holiday feels, the event also helps to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC and the Yukon, which is celebrating its 41st year of granting wishes to children living with critical illnesses.

Got Craft
What: Vancouver can’t get enough of holiday markets, and Got Craft is back to help festive shoppers find the perfect gifts this season.
The Got Craft Holiday Market returns with not one, but two festive weekends at the Croatian Cultural Centre in East Vancouver. This year’s markets will feature 100 local makers and small shops, plus food trucks, hands-on workshops, free DIY zine making, a mobile bookshop, an expanded Mini Makers area for kidpreneurs, and limited-edition swag bags for the first 50 people through the doors each day.

Vancouver Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration
What: One of the city’s most beloved holiday traditions, the free outdoor celebration will take place at šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square on Friday, Nov. 28.
Guests will enjoy live entertainment, colourful photo opportunities, and free cocoa at šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square. Santa Claus is even rumoured to be making an appearance.

The lineup of performers includes comedians, actors, filmmakers, and people who may have never been on stage before. Laugh along with live readings of high school poetry, LiveJournal posts, songs, letters, journals, and more.

Lights at Lafarge
What: Lights at Lafarge, Metro Vancouver’s largest free outdoor winter lights display, is back again for another holiday season.
The annual tradition will illuminate Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam throughout the season, with over 100,000 twinkling lights to enjoy until the end of February. Guests of all ages can explore the outdoor display that wraps its way entirely around the lake, leading them on a 1.2 km loop through themed zones.

Moms Moms Moms: A Burlesque Comedy and Smut Slam
What: Comedian moms turned burlesque performers DD Brassiere and Your Mom Kathy shine a hilarious light on the relentless expectations of motherhood during Moms Moms Moms at the Revue Stage.
Afterwards, stick around for Smut Slam, the adult-only storytelling open mic created by award-winning playwright, performer, sex activist and educator Cameryn Moore. Consenting Slammers sign up at the event to tell a five-minute dirty story, based on real life.

Surrey Santa Parade of Lights

Cloverdale BIA
What: The 17th annual Surrey Santa Parade of Lights is happening on Sunday, Dec. 3, throughout Cloverdale Town Centre, with seasonal floats, stunning lights, and more.
Attendees of the free community event are also asked to bring donations to support important local causes, including the Cloverdale Community Kitchen, Surrey Food Bank, and the Surrey Christmas Bureau.

Noel Surrey and Bright Nights
What: Noel Surrey will feature massive displays, stunning LED forests, and photo opportunities, along with 300 ft. of light tunnels.
Take a stroll around the pond at Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre to enjoy the accessible Bright Nights light display, produced through thousands of volunteer hours by over 800 firefighters.
Bright Nights has roots in Surrey and is the single largest fundraiser each year for the Burn Fund, which provides life-saving, life-supporting, and life-enriching services to people in B.C.

What: Disney On Ice is returning to Vancouver this fall with an all-new live show, and the cast is sure to delight fans of all ages.
