Legendary R&B artist Ms. Lauryn Hill, who hasn’t toured frequently and even less so in Canada, is coming to Vancouver next month.

Hill, who burst onto the music scene as part of The Fugees’ hit 1996 album, The Score, will be playing the Orpheum Theatre on Nov. 24 as part of an artist-in-residence tour.

The show is a late start, with doors opening at 9:30 p.m.

Vancouver is part of an eight-stop tour for Hill in major Canadian cities like Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. Vancouver is the second stop on the tour after Hill plays a show in Winnipeg, Man.

The announcement from F7 Live calls Hill “one of the most influential artists of a generation.”

“This artist and her immaculate album have inspired numerous generations of men and women. Furthermore, Ms Hill has blazed new trails and expanded the landscape for all female artists.”

General onsale starts this Friday at noon, and presale tickets will be available today at 3 p.m. using the password BACKSTAGE.

While Hill has made several concert appearances around the world in recent years, she’s famously been away from the studio, with her last and only solo album (aside from the 2002 MTV Unplugged album), The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, having been released in 1998.

The last time Hill was in Vancouver was in 2023, and before that, in 2019.

Presale tickets are already listed on Ticketmaster for as low as $102 and as high as $607 for the best seats. $2 from every ticket sold will go to the MLH Foundation.

There have been a few major Vancouver concert announcements over the last week, including legendary Canadian band Rush, and more recently, The Foo Fighters.
