Music Monday at Robson Square

Metro Vancouver students

  • What: Over 200 students from across Metro Vancouver will perform the new Music Monday anthem, Sing It Together, and other works as part of a national event for music education next month. Maestro Gerald King from the University of Victoria will conduct the mass performance along with Canadian artist Tarun Nayar from Delhi 2 Dublin and youth co-hosts from the CMEC Youth 4 Music Network.

Burnaby Youth Week

  • What: Chicago-based hip-hop artist and producer Saba performs at Fortune Sound Club. In 2015, Saba appeared as a featured artist on several cuts, including Chance’s “Angels,” Jenkins’ “Slumber,” and Odd Couple’s “What Kings Do.” Additionally, he released the reflective Tink collaboration “Temporary,” one of his most commercial songs to date. In late 2016, Saba self-released the LP Bucket List Project, featuring artists like fellow Chicagoan Noname and rapper Twista.

G Day Vancouver 2018

  • What: G Day is a rite of passage event series that celebrates the transition between childhood and adolescence in tween girls ages 10 to 12. The day begins with a metaphorical “Village,” with facilitated inter-generational conversations and singing. There will be separate programming for girls (includes interactive presentations, creative activities and yoga), while adults hear from local parenting experts and have the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences.
