French Moderns Exhibition: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950

What: Running now through May 20, the exhibition showcases a collection of mesmerizing sculptures, paintings, and drawings from the Brooklyn Museum. You can expect to see works of art by legends like Paul Cézanne, Marc Chagall, Edgar Degas, Édouard Manet, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Berthe Morisot, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Auguste Rodin, and more.

Coffee with a Cop

What: Join your local RCMP members for a cup of java. There is no agenda or speeches. It is an opportunity for those in the community to meet and chat with officers in a casual 1-on-1 environment to ask questions about various issues in the community or other interests you may have regarding the RCMP. All ages are welcome.

Judith Fair

What: An evening celebrating female identified and non-binary artists! This variety show is in celebration of International Women’s Day, and features a mix of burlesque, dance, comedy, sketch, theatre and music.

Shred for the Cause at Mt. Seymour

What: For the 2019 season, women can ski and snowboard at Mt Seymour for $15, with $7.50 from every lift ticket going to The Bloom Group. Men are welcome to come out and enjoy the evening as well, with lift tickets for men from 5 to 10 pm for $35. The Bloom Group have been providing social services in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside for over 50 years, including low-barrier shelters for women and children. Drinks and food specials are being served in the Rock Chute from 5 pm onwards with trivia and games for prizes and giveaways at 8 pm.

2019 Battle of the Bands Finale

What: The finale of the 2019 Nimbus Battle of the Bands. After three rounds of outstanding local high school talent, this all-ages event showcases some of BC’s most promising emerging artists. Featuring Madeleine Grace from Heritage Woods Secondary School, Zoey Leven from Port Moody High School, and Ashley Pater & Destination Unknown from Fraser Heights Secondary School.
