Blanket-Share Exhibition

  • What: The Blanket-Share Exhibition features hand-sewn blankets from Mi Soo Park for sale, with partial proceeds going to support BC Children’s Hospital. Each blanket is hand-sewn and features one of Mi Soo’s one-off designs.

17th Annual Grapes, Hops & Bites Festival

  • What: The Rotary Club of Steveston Wine Festival brings the best-of-the-best wine, beer, food and entertainment to say thanks for continued support of Rotary Club’s incredible community. All proceeds go directly to the Steveston Rotary Community Outreach Programs.

  • What: Formed by Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden as freshmen at Wesleyan University, MGMT emerged as one of the most buzzed-over bands to sprout in the tail end of the 2000s, playing a distinct blend of electronic rock and psychedelic pop. Their music was hipster-identified but caught on with a wide audience —including Paul McCartney, who picked MGMT to open for him in 2009.

Sweet Dreams Film Screening And Drum Workshop

  • What: A screening of Sweet Dreams, a powerful and celebratory film about Ingoma Nshya, Rwanda’s first and only women’s drumming troupe followed by a free drum workshop lead by Jacky Essombe, accompanied by M’Girl. The evening begins with a First Nations blessing followed by opening remarks from Lama Mugabo, Managing Director of Building Bridges with Rwanda. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own drums and to join the call of the drums after the film screening.
