Vancouver is full of great concerts in July, including Khatsahlano, Norah Jones, and more. Here are 10 concerts to check out this month.

CBC Musical Nooners

What: Free, live music concerts will be happening every weekday on the CBC Vancouver outdoor stage. Grab your lunch, your friends, your kids or your co-workers and join the 10th season of CBC Musical Nooners. The opening concert on July 5 features The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer with Dawn Pemberton. Other performers include The Hamiltones (July 18), Jim Byrnes (July 25), Petunia and the Vipers (August 7), and Sister Speak on August 16.

When: Every weekday from July 5 to August 16, 2019 (no show on BC Day)

Khatsahlano Street Party 2019

What: The free annual festival will take over 10 blocks along Kitsilano’s 4th Avenue between Burrard Street and Macdonald Street. This year features headliners Hey Ocean!, The Boom Booms, Harlequin Gold, and many more performers. As usual, local restaurants, and stores along 4th Avenue will be holding sales and giveaways, as well as providing samples and games on the street for everyone to enjoy.

When: Saturday, July 6, 2019

Strange Advance

What: Strange Advance returns after a 30-year hiatus. Juno nominated for Best Group with multi-gold record awards, their songs Worlds Away, We Run, and Love Becomes Electric are still played on the radio.

When: July 8, 2019

The VSO Presents Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II

What: Bugs Bunny At The Symphony  II celebrates the world’s favourite classic Looney Tunes, projected on the big screen, while the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performs their original Carl Stalling scores live. Conducted by George Daugherty and created by Daugherty and David Ka Lik Wong, Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II spotlights such iconic classics as What’s Opera, Doc?, The Rabbit of Seville, and more, plus two brand-new, critically-acclaimed 3D cartoons from Warner Bros. – Rabid Rider and Coyote Falls. Capping it all off are special guest appearances by Tom & Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl.

The Raconteurs

What: Detroit rockers The Raconteurs, led by Jack White, come to Vancouver for two shows with special guest Lillie Mae.

Uptown Live 2019

What: Get your dance shoes on, bring your friends and family and spend a full day of fun with live performances, food trucks, interactive activities, art installations, artisan vendors and more. Four main musical stages will feature the best of BC’s thriving indie music scene. This years headliner is New West’s very own Chris Buck Band.

Kirby’s Dream Band, The Runaway Four, The Wavebirds

What: An evening of live video game music with Kirby’s Dream Band and The Runaway Four, plus local geeky ska punk from The Wavebirds.

The Doubleclicks

What: The Doubleclicks are a folk-pop music duo made up of siblings Laser and Aubrey. The Doubleclicks have been played on NPR shows like All Things Acoustic, and featured on BoingBoing, io9, Geek & Sundry, and the Huffington Post. They have opened for nerd stars like Jonathan Coulton and Wil Wheaton, performed at dozens of conventions, libraries, colleges, comedy clubs and game stores around the US, Australia and Canada, and released more than 70 music videos on YouTube, where they have 16,000 subscribers and 3 million views.

Block Rockin Beats 2019

What: Electric Love presents the first edition of “Block Rockin Beats,” an action-packed day focused on outdoor music, activities and festival vibes. Dance on an outdoor turf dance floor, watch world-class international talent on a custom LED stage, shop at festival merchandise vendors, enjoy delicious summer eats and grab a drink from the outdoor bar. 19+, ID required.
