Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival to host a FREE 2-day concert in April

Mar 10 2020, 7:00 pm

The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF), one of the city’s most beloved annual events, is set to return this April.

The month-long celebration takes place from April 2 to 26, celebrating the city’s gorgeous pink cherry trees and bringing a welcome burst of pink to winter-weary Vancouverites.

Similar to previous years, the Cherry Blossom Festival will host a number of events around Vancouver, one of them being the Cherry Jam Downtown Concerts. This year, the FREE concerts have been extended to a two-day event and will take place at the Burrard SkyTrain Station.

This year’s lineup of performances includes the BC World Music Collective Trio, Kotojiro World Music, Stephen Stewart-Imbert, and Vancouver Okinawa Taiko (an Okinawan-style drum-dance) taking place on Thursday.

Friday’s performances include Korean drumming from the Cheondoong Performing Arts Society, Kiyoshi, beatboxing by Jesse, Mohammed Assani, and the Royal Academy of Bhangra.

The noon-hour concerts will take place from 12 to 1:30 pm daily.
