The latest edition of the Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards is out, and several Vancouver and B.C. hotels and establishments received prestigious honours.
This marks the 68th annual luxury hospitality awards from Forbes, which gives out four-star, five-star, and recommended ratings to establishments from around the world.
One Vancouver hotel received a five-star rating, and that was the Fairmont Pacific Rim. The Fairmont Spa at Fairmont Pacific Rim also got a five-star rating.
The Fairmont Pacific Rim was recently recognized by U.S. News, too.
A few other hotels and experiences in the city received four-star ratings, including Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Paradox Hotel Vancouver, Rosewood Hotel Georgia and the Spa by JW at JW Marriott Parq Vancouver.
Three Vancouver hotels, including the St. Regis Hotel, the Sutton Place Hotel and JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, received recommended ratings.
Some Vancouver Island hotels also received some recognition.
The Fairmont Empress got a recommended rating, as did the Magnolia Hotel & Spa, both located in Victoria, B.C.
Wickaninnish Inn, located on Tofino’s Chesterman Beach, has received numerous awards over the past couple of years, and Forbes gave it a coveted recommended rating as well.

“As always, FTG’s ratings are objective, independent and data-driven. Incognito inspectors pose as everyday guests—checking into hotels, boarding cruises, trying spa treatments and dining at restaurants—to test hundreds of exacting standards, and always paying for a stay,” Forbes says of its list of hotels.
Forbes adds that while the quality and condition of establishments is “vital,” exceptional service accounts for 70 per cent of a property’s rating, “reflecting the human element at the heart of luxury.”
The awards come as many travellers from around the world are looking for spots to stay ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
