Japanese clothing retailer giant UNIQLO continues to expand in Metro Vancouver with the opening of its second location this Friday.

The region’s second store will open at Guildford Town Centre in Surrey at 10 am on March 9.

The Guildford Town Centre store will have a retail floor area of 12,800 sq. Although smaller than the Metrotown store, it will still offer the essentials and signature items UNIQLO is known for, including the core collections for men, women, and kids.

“The launch… is very exciting for us,” said Yasuhiro Hayashi, Chief Operating Officer of UNIQLO Canada. “We opened our first store in the Greater Vancouver Area last fall and we received great demand from customers for more stores. This newest expansion demonstrates our commitment to bring LifeWear to more Canadians on the West Coast.”

To celebrate the opening of the Guildford Town Centre location, the company will give away an AIRism innerwear top to the first 500 customers who line up on opening day. Limit one per customer.

The store will also have opening specials on men’s, women’s, and kids’ items, the company said.

The company currently has more than 1,900 stores across the world, with the largest store being its 89,000-sq-ft flagship on New York’s Fifth Avenue.
