Canada Day at Town Centre Park

What: Kicking off at noon, the celebration will feature family-friendly live music and dance on two stages, food trucks, children’s entertainment, youth activities, arts and crafts, craft beverages and site-wide licensing, community displays, vendors, and fireworks over Lafarge Lake at nightfall.

When: July 1, 2019

Neighbourhood Nights

What: Get to know your neighbours at this free family event held at various Coquitlam park locations throughout the summer, with kids’ games, family activities, and light refreshments. Be a part of building relationships, promoting neighbourhood safety and creating a sense of community, while getting out to meet your neighbours and having fun. In the event of rain, the scheduled Neighbourhood Night will be cancelled.

Cinema Under the Stars

What: Enjoy recent movies on a 26-foot-tall enormous silver screen at Sun Valley and Gates Parks. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and round up some friends. In the event of rain, the movie will be moved to the next available Friday.

What: Enjoy free concerts every Sunday at Rocky Point Park. Performers include Dawn Pemberton, The Legendary Powder Blues, and MOJO Stars. Supporting Crossroads Hospice.

Film Night – The Salt of the Earth

What: For the last 40 years, photographer Sebastião Salgado has been travelling through the continents, in the footsteps of an ever-changing humanity. He has documented some of the major events of our recent history; international conflicts, starvation and exodus. He now embarks on a discovery of pristine territories, of wild fauna and flora, and of grandiose landscapes as part of a huge photographic project, a tribute to the planet’s beauty. Salgado’s life and work are revealed to us by his son, Juliano, who went with him during his last travels, and by renowned German filmmaker Wim Wenders, who narrates the film.

Summer Concert Series

What: Voted “Outdoor Concert of the Year” by Tri-Cities residents, Coquitlam’s Summer Concert Series is back again for 2019. Drop by the TD Community Plaza in Town Centre Park to enjoy free concerts under the evening sky this summer. Choose to either sit on the grassed seating levels or bring your own chair or blanket while enjoying a homemade picnic or meal purchased from an on-site food truck.

When: July 12 (Rock Night), August 2 (Pop Night) and September 6 (RnB Night), 2019

Reception – Patterns – Inhabit – Figurative Body, Literal Mind

What: The Port Moody Arts Centre welcomes three new exhibitions to the gallery: Patterns, a group exhibition by the Garibaldi Art Club; Inhabit by Kwi AM Choi Scholarship Recipient Emilie Nunez; and Figurative Body, Literal Mind by Aimee Risby, another Kwi Am Choi Scholarship Recipient. Artists will be in attendance and refreshments will be served.

Ultimate Car Show 2019

What: Hard Rock Casino is hosting their 5th Annual Ultimate Car Show, in partnership with 360 Fabrication Inc. The free all-ages event features live entertainment throughout the day with the Ultimate Tribute to Bryan Adams, performed by Reckless.

The Windsinger

What: Magic! Betrayal! Revenge! Gather the family, pack a picnic and come to Town Centre Park for a whimsical outdoor performance of The Windsinger, a family-friendly adaptation of Shakespeare’s adventurous play, The Tempest.
