Apr 17 2019, 1:55 am

Later this month, TransLink will be springing on additional bus service.

On Monday, April 22, multiple transit routes will be starting earlier, running later, and coming more often.

Seventeen routes will benefit from permanent schedule adjustments; 12 routes will have seasonal changes come into effect.

The following three routes will see major, permanent increases in frequency during peak hours and on weekends:

250A Dundarave/Vancouver

Service is being increased during busy times on weekdays to reduce overcrowding.

Monday to Friday:

  • Every seven to 10 minutes from 7 to 8 am
  • Every 6 to 12 minutes from 5 to 6 pm

Effective: Saturday, May 25, 2019

301 Richmond-Brighouse Station/Newton Exchange

Service is being doubled all day on Saturdays.

Saturday:

  • Every 30 minutes from 6 am to 8 pm

Effective: Saturday, May 25, 2019

312 Scott Road Station/Scottsdale

Service is also being doubled on this route on Saturdays.

Saturday:

  • Every 30 minutes from 7 to 9 am
  • Every 30 minutes from 6 to 9 pm

Effective: Saturday, May 25, 2019

TransLink has also stated that permanent improvements are being made 14 other routes, including the: 84, 116, 229, 250, 240, 257, 310, 182, 319, 321, 323, 335, 351, and 640.

12 seasonal changes have also been made to the 9, 19, 23, 28, 42, 125, 130, 150, 236, 258, 480, and 620.

The seasonal changes reflect a decrease in demand for trips to post-secondary institutions and an increase in demand to ferry terminals, beaches, and other tourist destinations.
