The Weeknd's Super Bowl halftime show spawns amazing memes
A brand new meme has entered the chat.
Just when the Bernie Sanders memes were fading away, the Super Bowl performance by The Weeknd took over.
The Canadian performed some of his hit songs like “Blinding Lights,” “The Hills,” and “StarBoy,” showcasing his dynamic singing ability. The event was considered a success, which is good because the Scarborough, Ontario native spent $7 million of his own money to boost the show’s budget.
The set was designed to look like the Las Vegas strip and included a massive choir and instrumentalists. The background dancers in the performance all had their faces covered in head bandages as a way to show the “absurd culture of Hollywood celebrity,” The Weeknd told Variety.
The overall show was a spectacle however, one part of performance caught the eye of the internet community.
