
Looking to break into the funny business with a new job this fall? The Improv Centre (TIC) in Vancouver is hiring for several seasonal roles, and the opportunities will put a smile on your face.
The live comedy venue on Granville Island is currently hiring for a number of part-time positions that pay over minimum wage.
You’ll also be part of a team delivering some of the finest comedy shows in the city during the busy Halloween and holiday season.

The Vancouver Improv Centre Society is one of the city’s top improv theatre companies, with alumni including Whose Line Is It Anyways? great Colin Mochrie. Its 186-seat theatre is open year-round on Granville Island.
Open TIC positions include bartender, which has a starting wage of $18.96 per hour plus tips and vacation pay, less statutory withholdings.
The successful candidate will sell liquor, snacks, and other beverages at the bar during shows and events at the theatre. A valid Serving it Right certificate and a minimum of one year of bartending experience are also required.

TIC is also hiring a box office attendant, who will be responsible for the in-person Box Office Operations, day-of sales, and providing customer service.
A significant asset for applicants applying for the role includes experience working with Spektrix or another dynamic ticketing system. Proficient computer skills and customer service experience are also important for the job, which pays $21.36 per hour plus vacation pay, minus statutory withholdings.
The Improv Centre is also hiring for a seasonal manager on duty and a manager on duty assist. The role oversees the front-of-house staff in the theatre during shows and events.
A minimum of two years of experience in customer service, leading and training people, and managing venues and facilities are key qualifications for the job.
The pay for the manager on duty assist is $21.36 per hour, and the manager on duty earns $22.43 per hour, both plus vacation pay, less statutory withholdings.
