The occupants of a Tesla allegedly opened fire on another vehicle in Surrey early Tuesday, injuring three men in what police believe was a road rage-fuelled shooting.

According to a news release from Surrey Police Service (SPS), four men were travelling east on 84 Avenue near 140 Street around 1 a.m. on July 15 when a white Tesla Model 3 with Ontario plates pulled up beside them.

The Tesla, occupied by three individuals, allegedly fired several shots at the victims’ vehicle before fleeing the area.

The injured group then drove to SPS’s District 3 office to report the shooting.

Paramedics treated three of the four adult victims for gunshot wounds. All were taken to hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

SPS’s Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.

Officers believe the incident may have been triggered by road rage, though the motive remains under investigation. The victims are said to be cooperating. Surrey SPS said the suspects are described as three South Asian males.

No further suspect descriptions have been released.

Anyone with information, CCTV footage, or dashcam video from the area is asked to call Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2025-58724 (SP).
