Taylor Swift tickets are so expensive even this Canucks player can't afford them

Just how expensive are Taylor Swift tickets in Vancouver? They’re so pricey that not even the rich and famous can justify shelling out cash for her final show of the Eras Tour at BC Place.

At least that’s what Vancouver Canucks forward Jake DeBrusk indicated.

ā€œI wish I could go to this one, but the tickets are just so insane,” DeBrusk told David Quadrelli of CanucksArmy.

DeBrusk, who signed with the Canucks as a free agent last summer, makes $5.5 million per season. He’s in the first year of a $38.5 million contract.

The 28-year-old saw Swift once already at a Massachusetts show in May 2023, but the former Boston Bruins forward had a hookup for tickets that time, he told Quadrelli.

DeBrusk isn’t the only certified Swiftie on the team, it seems. Canucks teammate Nils Hƶglander is a fan, revealing that “Love Story” is his favourite Swift song.

He may not be as big a fan as former Canuck Jack Studnicka, though.

ā€œShe’s everything. She’s a rock star, pop star,ā€ Studnicka declared in a hilarious Canucks video last year.

The Canucks have a game tonight at the same time as Swift’s first Vancouver show. There’s no conflict with Sunday’s game, though, as it begins at 1 pm, well ahead of the 7 pm Eras Tour finale.

The cheapest ticket for Sunday’s show is $1,280 on StubHub, but those are for upper bowl obstructed-view seats behindĀ the stage. The cheapest floor seats are listed for over $3,800.

People are spending a whole lot more for premium seats though. There’s a pair of front-row seats listed for over $20,000 right now.

Swift will affect this weekend’s games. Extra road closures around BC Place and Rogers Arena are in effect after noon on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Traffic is expected to be a nightmare tonight, as approximately 75,000 fans will be attending the concert, hockey game, and Cirque du Soleil show in the area.
