An elderly cyclist was left with “life-threatening” injuries after he was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Vancouver early this morning.
According to VPD, the man in his 70s was riding his bike near 4th Avenue and Collingwood Street when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop. He was taken to hospital and is in “serious condition.”
The VPD says that witness reports suggest a taxi may have been involved.
In a media update, Sgt. Steve Addison with VPD confirmed that a suspect is in custody and the driver was believed to be operating a taxi at the time of the incident.
