A Surrey sports bar has confirmed one of its employees has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, The Taphouse Guildford located at 15330 102a Ave, Surrey, said that this past Saturday one of its employees was “feeling under the weather.”

“We immediately asked the staff member to stay at home in isolation and to get tested. We just received word that the results came back positive. Although the staff member is doing well and feeling healthy, along with the rest of our team, it is our duty to take action and implement the next part of our Safety Plan,” stated the establishment.

The Taphouse added that “the health and well-being of our guests and team members is the number one priority” and it has since decided to close until it undergoes testing of all of its employees and deep cleaning.

“We are currently working with Fraser Health providing as much information as possible, as we take the next steps in terms of contact tracing and notifying any patrons who may have been present. It is at times like these we thank our health authorities for the systems they have put in place,” stated The Taphouse.
