Former CTV news anchor Tamara Taggart to be named as Liberal candidate

Tamara Taggart is going to be acclaimed as a Liberal candidate for the upcoming Federal election this fall.

The former CTV News anchor confirmed the news with Daily Hive and stated that a nomination meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 24, 2019.

Last December, the longtime broadcaster announced she was planning to seek nomination for the Liberal Party of Canada for the Vancouver Kingsway riding.

“I want to use my voice in a positive way to make a difference,” she wrote in an Instagram post, with the hashtag #TeamTrudeau.

Taggart co-hosted CTV’s News at Six show with Mike Killeen until both were let go from their positions in April of 2018.
