Vancouver police have laid charges four months after a man was murdered outside a local restaurant.

According to a release from VPD, 48-year old Vancouver resident, Ngoc Chau Nguyen has been charged for the April 2018 murder of 55-year-old Minh Huu Dam.

On April 22, emergency crews were called to Kingsway and Nanaimo Street just before 1:30 am, for reports of an injured man.

Huu was taken to the hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Police arrested Nguyen and said the men knew each other and got into an altercation, which turned violent.

Charges for second-degree murder against Nguyen were announced on August 22 and he remains in custody.

This was Vancouver’s seventh homicide of 2018.
