Car strikes police cruiser, another stuck on residential gate while allegedly fleeing Surrey RCMP

Two men were arrested early this morning in Surrey after a chaotic melee that saw one car get stuck in a gate and another collide with a police cruiser — all while apparently trying to flee RCMP.

The incident started around 1 am Friday when frontline officers were called to an unrelated investigation at a gated townhouse complex in the 13800-block of 100 Avenue.

That’s when police say they noticed two “suspicious vehicles,” a Honda Accord and a Chevy Colorado, in the roadway.

As police drove into the complex, that’s when the people inside the car allegedly tried to flee.

“The Honda Accord attempted to drive through a gate of the townhouse complex and became stuck.  The Chevy Colorado collided with a police car as it fled the area at a high rate of speed,” said Cpl. Elenore Sturko, in a statement.

Two men who were in the Honda Accord were arrested at the scene, but a third person fled and hasn’t been found.

A semi-automatic carbine firearm, hunting knife, and latex gloves were seized from the Honda.

The Chevy Colorado was later located and was seized as part of the investigation.

Ryan Molner of Surrey, 30, has been charged with 10 counts including failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The second man in the Honda remains in custody on unrelated warrants and has not been charged.
