Superbaba Vancouver set to open its doors in early November
Victoria’s fast-casual Middle Eastern spot Superbaba is opening a brick and mortar location in Vancouver, and it’s almost time to taste this purveyor’s signature flavour-packed eats.
The concept, which was operating as a food truck in Vancouver up until recently, has taken over the former address of Kam’s Bakery at 2419 Main Street in the heart of Mount Pleasant.
Superbaba’s 1,600-sq-ft Vancouver storefront is going to open as grab-and-go to start. There’s ample bench seating for folks who are waiting for their to-go orders, and additional dine-in seating will be added in stages as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
The space, which was designed by Shawn Rassekh of RAAF Projects and built by Belcarra Contracting, features fresh, modern takes on classic elements that would be found in old school falafel and shawarma restaurants in the Middle East.
Dallah, chef & partner at Superbaba, told Dished Vancouver during a walk-through that these modern touches were important when it came to the second location.

Known for its falafel, chicken shawarma, and fresh-baked pita, Superbaba says its Vancouver menu will be the same as the one in Victoria (which means we’re in for a treat).
This new spot is slated to open in early November — we’ll keep you posted on an exact opening date once it’s revealed.
