It’s been a gloomy few days in Vancouver with downpours and high winds but things are set to brighten up this week with sunshine in the forecast.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) the sunshine will arrive on Wednesday with a high of 13°C. Clear skies will continue through to Friday with highs of 10°C.

The rain and clouds will settle back in for the weekend, but temperatures will remain mild. The sun is forecasted to return next Monday.

Vancouver’s weather has taken a wet turn from the freezing temperatures experienced in late January and early February.

Last week, Metro Vancouver was slammed with a heavy rainfall warning, followed by a wind warning on Monday.

While there might be some soggy weather in the forecast for the next few weeks, the sunshine is a nice reminder that spring is on its way, and the new season will officially start on March 20 for those who want to mark it on their calendars.

Moreover, Daylight Saving Time is fast approaching on March 9, meaning we’ll soon be getting one more hour of daylight, and the sun will set later as summer nears closer.
