Yes, the longer days of summer do offer more opportunity to get outside and play, but who says the fun and adventure has to stop when the sun goes down?

In fact, some adventures are made even better during the nighttime hours.

Case in point: Vancouver Water Adventures offers a series of Friday and Saturday night standup paddleboard sessions known as their Light the Night tours.

Participants are outfitted with paddleboards that light up and illuminate the water below them, streaking through the waves in a variety of bright colours.

Tours take place on select dates from June through August, and depart from the company’s Granville Island location. The excursions themselves are one-and-a-half hours in length.

“Quickly becoming one of the most popular paddleboard and kayak experiences around the world, this guided tour is a fun way to ring in the weekend and discover Vancouver at night,” the company states.

Feeling a little shaky on the standup paddleboard? You also have the option to experience the evening in a kayak.

And with warmer weather well on its way here in Vancouver, this might be the perfect time to book your night tour and see the city in an entirely different light.

All participants must be 16 years of age or older, and previous paddling experience is required.
