Amar Doman did it again.
The popular BC Lions owner, who first introduced the “concert kickoff” in 2022, delivered his biggest act yet. A total of 52,837 fans packed BC Place for Snoop Dogg before the Lions’ season opener, and the Doggfather didn’t disappoint.
Was it family friendly? Maybe not — it was relatively uncensored. But if you asked for Snoop Dogg, you got certainly got Snoop Dogg.
And you got him in a custom BC Lions jersey.

Snoop was the biggest act yet for a Lions home opener, following 50 Cent (2024), LL Cool J (2023), and OneRepublic (2022).
Unlike 50 Cent, who booked it out of BC Place immediately after his last song, Snoop stuck around to toss signed footballs to his adoring fans — prioritizing kids on the field.

Snoop also showed off his arm, gunning a signed ball into the upper deck.

The concert was delayed, following what appeared to be a disorganized mess getting into the building. It wasn’t a good look for BC Place, as some fans had to wait 45 minutes to get in the stadium.
Fans were asked to be in their seats by 5:45 p.m., but the reality was that the stadium was half full at that time. The Lions smartly delayed the concert, with Snoop not taking to the stage until 6:25.

The Lions will be looking to capitalize on the buzz better than last season, when they finished with a disappointing 9-9 record. BC has a new general manager in Ryan Rigmaiden, a new head coach in Buck Pierce, and Nathan Rourke at quarterback from day one. Is it a recipe for success? We’ll find out in 2025.
