Smoke Shack BBQ: New BBQ concept to open in Chilliwack
The Fraser Valley is soon to be the home to a new spot for great BBQ.
SinAmen Bun Co., which operates locations in both Abbotsford and Chilliwack, has announced that it will be opening a new concept soon, with a decidedly more savoury approach.
Smoke Shack BBQ will be taking over the space of a current Wild Birds Unlimited shop at 8810-C Young Road, right next to the Chilliwack location of the specialty cinnamon bun store.

Kerry Krahn, who is behind SinAmen Bun Co. and the new BBQ concept, tells Dished that it will have a “‘BBQ meets west coast’ kinda vibe.”
Krahn says that Smoke Shack “will have the classics such as brisket and pulled pork” but that patrons can also expect things like house-smoked salmon chowder as well as a range of other offerings with “more broad and international flavors.”
Think smoked char sui, smoked Korean-style short ribs, Mennonite farmers’ sausage, and Montreal smoked meat.
“This type of food represents what I grew up with in Burnaby having friends from such vast cultures and I want to reflect that in the menu,” Krahn shares. “Honestly, I LOVE that about where I was raised and it laid such a huge foundation for how I see food and experience other cultures.”
All sauces and rubs will be made in-house here, which will eventually be packaged and sold in a retail section in the store, too.
The spot will operate in a quick grab-and-go style, and in addition to its smoked meat offerings, Smoke Shack will have fully loaded baked potatoes, salads, and other sides that go well with BBQ.
Krahn tells us that they’re aiming for an early September opening, so you won’t have to wait long to check out this new concept.
