Sky pool penthouse in Vancouver sees $3 million price drop

One of the most eye-catching luxury penthouses in Vancouver is still looking for a new owner, and it’s now $3 million cheaper than when it hit the market last summer.
Penthouse 1 at 1568 Alberni Street, the building by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, boasts a stunning patio area. The occupant of the high-end condo will be able to look out over the city skyline from their private glass-bottomed pool and adjoining hot tub.
Inside the home are 20-foot ceilings for plenty of natural light and bleached white oak finishings. There’s also a private glass elevator to take residents up to the building’s terraces.
The barrier to living in this home and making an offer? The price.
The penthouse was originally listed for $22 million back in the summer of 2024. Now, its asking price has been reduced to $18.9 million.
Daily Hive reached out to listing agent Kevin Hardy, who specializes in luxury penthouses, but did not hear back before publication.
Prices of all housing types in Vancouver softened last year amid high interest rates, but some forecasters think the buyers’ market will end by 2026 when prices are expected to trend upward again.
