Vancouver Coastal Health has issued COVID-19 public exposure alerts for three more bars and restaurants in Whistler.

Buffalo Bill’s Bar & Grill is subject to an exposure alert from January 4 to 27 during operating hours, Dubh Linn Gate has an alert from January 1 to 27, and Black’s Pub has one from January 5 to 27.

There’s been a spate of COVID-19 alerts for restaurants in the ski town in recent days as the municipality sees a sharp increase in cases.

“Like other communities in BC, we are seeing COVID-19 spread locally in homes and among co-workers and we are seeing a sharp increase in positive cases,” Mayor Jack Crompton told Daily Hive in an emailed statement.

“I’ve asked our community members to reduce their personal contacts, stay home and stay local as the most effective things we can all do to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Whistler.”

Earlier this week, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) alerted patrons of potential exposures at Hy’s Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar, as well as El Furniture Warehouse. A third exposure was also flagged, warning of exposure at The Longhorn Saloon.

The health authority says only those who develop symptoms need to self-isolate. People who visited the restaurants and feel healthy can still go about their day-to-day activities.

“Exposures posted here are believed to be low risk but, out of an abundance of caution, please monitor yourself for symptoms if you visited this location during these times,” Vancouver Coastal Health said in an Instagram post.
