Shots fired between vehicles during rush hour in Surrey: police

Police are investigating after gunshots were fired between two speeding vehicles during rush hour in Surrey on Thursday.

According to Surrey RCMP, the incident took place around 5:30 pm, when officers received reports of gunfire between two vehicles in the area of 96th Ave and 148th Street.

Police attended the area and say they located “several” shell casings.

The two vehicles were described as a white Ford Expedition type and a white Lexus or “Infinity type” vehicle.

Police said both vehicles were seen travelling at a high rate of speed when the incident occurred, and were last seen heading north on 148th Street.

The intersection was closed following the incident, but was reopened awhile later. There were no reports of injuries or damage to property following the event.

Now, as the investigation continues, police are asking anyone who was driving in the area and may have dash-camera footage of the incident or the vehicles involved to call them at 604-599-0502.
