Canadian actress Shay Mitchell shares her scenic B.C. experience

Canadian actress Shay Mitchell, who has nearly 40 million followers on social media, was in B.C. recently, and she shared her journey with her followers on Instagram.
Mitchell shared the post captioned, “No cap just island things” earlier this week.
Mitchell shared several pictures of herself in B.C., which led to her followers trying to investigate exactly where she was.
Her followers quickly discovered that she was in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island — more specifically, in the Coombs area, at least for some of her trip.

Mitchell shared some photos of herself shopping around the island, including picking up candied salmon from a local market. Mitchell was sporting tons of BÉIS swag. BÉIS is the brand Mitchell created and founded in 2018 to make travel gear more stylish.
In response to the post, folks were celebrating beautiful British Columbia, commenting on how lovely Vancouver Island is, with one person calling it “the most beautiful place on earth.”
“Shay’s [on] Vancouver Island! Love it,” another follower celebrated.
Others were celebrating Mitchell’s outfits and asking where she got her white dress.
While Mitchell was born in Ontario, she has spent a lot of time in the Lower Mainland, as she attended high school in West Vancouver. She made her mark following her role in Pretty Little Liars, which earned her several award nominations at the People’s Choice Awards and the Teen Choice Awards.
Mitchell was also spotted in Vancouver last year, giving a shoutout to the Chinatown bar Meo, calling it her new favourite.
In less favourable news, Mitchell was slammed by fans in 2024 for “denying her Filipino heritage.”
