Seair Seaplanes has recently acquired a new aircraft, allowing it to expand its operations in Vancouver, along with the announcement of a new experience called “The Beautiful Tour.”
In a release from Friday morning, Seair said that it expects increased visitor demand as the city dribbles toward the FIFA World Cup.
The aircraft Seair acquired is a De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver, which will help expand scenic tour operations. Seair expects this to be one of the biggest tourism seasons in the region’s history.
“As Vancouver prepares to welcome the world during the World Cup, we’re excited to expand our touring capacity and introduce new ways for visitors to experience the city and surrounding coastline from the air,” said Jared Williams, president & CEO of Seair Seaplanes, in the release.
“The Beaver is an iconic West Coast aircraft and a perfect fit for showcasing Vancouver’s skyline, mountains, and waterfront from a truly unique perspective.”
Seair has also shared some information about what The Beautiful Tour entails, including that it’s designed to showcase and highlight the beauty of Vancouver and the surrounding areas, like the North Shore.

“Departing from Vancouver Harbour aboard the classic Beaver aircraft, the tour offers aerial views of the city’s coastline, the North Shore Mountains, Deep Cove, and key stadium landmarks including BC Place and surrounding waterfront venues. The experience combines Vancouver’s natural beauty with the energy of one of the world’s largest sporting events,” Seair said.
The tour will run from May to August.
Seair, which has been around since 1982, is announcing some other initiatives, too.
The seaplane operator will be expanding day trips between Vancouver and Victoria and is also introducing a new series of luxury coastal experiences, “with the introduction of select
private luxury tour offerings departing Vancouver Harbour.”
This includes winery experiences in the Okanagan Valley and guided wildlife excursions.
